Airpower Foundation September Events Honoring Veterans and the 25th Commemoration of 9/11

September 5th, 2026
Airpower kicks off the month of September with the Ride to Remember, an opportunity to participate in a community motorcycle ride, which will be followed by an after-party with poker, food, raffles, and more. “Hosted by the Leathernecks MC Confederation, this patriotic motorcycle ride and poker run raises funds for the Airpower Foundation while helping bring attention to the urgent mission of ending veteran suicide—one mile at a time.” The money raised at this event will be directed to provide a service dog for a veteran.

September 11-13th, 2026
A time of remembrance, honor, and support. The Celebrity Softball Classic held at the Frisco Roughriders baseball stadium is more than a game, it’s a tribute. “Twenty-five years after September 11th, we come together to honor the heroes we lost, stand with those who continue to serve, and remind a new generation what American resilience looks like.” Gates open at 4:00 PM and the first pitch is at 6:30 PM.

September 13th, 2026
Airpower Foundation is proud to provide volunteers to support the Patriot Games, annually held at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth. The Patriot Games are an opportunity for the 301st Fighter Wing to partake in a series of sporting events. While closed to the public, the event is designed to honor service members, celebrate community, and develop comradery amongst each other.
September 20th, 2026
The Texas Rangers are hosting a Veteran Appreciation Night that serves to honor the brave men and women who serve and have served in the United States Armed Forces.
“For over 10 years Aipower has partnered with the Texas Rangers Baseball for a very special Military Appreciation Day to honor the brave men and women who serve and have served in the United States Armed Forces. Through this opportunity Airpower is able bring members of the military and their families together as a way to say thank you for their service and sacrifice. Airpower is honored to invite a special guest to throw out the first pitch and to provide a veteran to sing the national anthem. Come for a day at the ballpark and celebrate our military.”

As the incoming prospective Commanding Officer of Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Captain Engel will lead an installation that plays a vital role in supporting our service members, military families, and the many commands that make NAS JRB Fort Worth an important part of the North Texas community.
The Airpower Foundation welcomes Captain Engel to Fort Worth and looks forward to building upon the strong partnership between the base and the community in support of military members, veterans, and their families.
The Airpower Foundation also extends sincere gratitude to Captain Beau Hufstetler for his outstanding leadership and service as Commanding Officer, as he retires and looks forward to the next chapter of his life. Captain Hufstetler has been instrumental in strengthening morale and welfare for service members on base while also building meaningful and lasting relationships between NAS JRB Fort Worth and the North Texas community.
