New company pairs non-viral fibroblast engineering with the RAPTOR OS platform to pursue durable collagen VII expression for Dystrophic EB.
BOULDER, CO, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — BioSolution Designs (BSD) today announced the launch of IntegriGen™, a virtually integrated pharmaceutical company focused on advancing next-generation engineered cell therapies for dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB). IntegriGen combines scientific invention, fibroblast-therapy precedent, chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC), advanced biomanufacturing in a focused translational program.
DEB is caused by COL7A1 mutations that reduce functional Collagen VII (COL7), weakening the anchoring fibrils that connect the epidermis and dermis. Fibroblasts are a natural source of COL7 within the skin and may provide a durable cellular vehicle for restoring local protein expression. Approved and investigational therapies have validated the biology — making meaningful progress for patients — while leaving opportunities to improve delivery, durability and manufacturability.
IntegriGen’s lead program uses non-viral DNA to engineer patient-derived fibroblasts through the RAPTOR OS™ manufacturing workflow. The resulting genetically modified fibroblasts are intended for delivery to pre-wound and wounded skin and are designed to continuously restore functional COL7 expression. Integration of the therapeutic gene network into the fibroblast genome is intended to enable daughter cells to continue producing functional COL7, thus supporting sustained protein expression and improved dermal-epidermal junction strength: advancing a treatment regimen beyond transient, wound-by-wound paradigms.

IntegriGen has exclusively licensed BSD’s RAPTOR OS for COL7-associated DEB investigations. The integrated system combines technologies for gene delivery, genome integration and modification, gene-expression control, effector engineering and scalable biomanufacturing. IntegriGen will pursue a fibroblast-first development strategy while conducting preliminary cell-only studies of a follow-on, allogeneic mesenchymal stem cell candidate focused on improving large open wounds.
John Maslowski has joined the IntegriGen Board of Directors. John is a veteran advanced-therapy executive with fibroblast-therapy and manufacturing experience, including work advancing an earlier generation of fibroblast therapy through the Fibrocell–Intrexon collaboration.
In addition to Thomas Reed, the IntegriGen team also includes Erin Collins, a gene-therapy and genetically modified cell-therapy product developer with CMC and regulatory experience; Wil Thompson, an advanced biomanufacturing leader with clinical and commercial autologous cell-therapy expertise; Stephen Schauer, PhD, a systems and synthetic biology expert; and Michael Linsner, working on corporate messaging and investor relations.
